Nursing Home Worker Accused
A previous nursing home worker in Ohio has been accused of more than 14 felony charges stemming from his time at the facility.
The man was reportedly arrested seven months ago for alleged abuse, and now additional charges are being held against him.
Previous Supervisor Charged
John Riems served as supervisor at the Concord Care and Rehabilitation Center in Perkins Township for more than 22 years.
During this time Riems admitted to abusing an estimated 100 patients to police authorities.
He was originally charged with abusing a partially paralyzed and blind 55-year-old man, along with an elderly man in his 80’s.
New Accusations Against Nursing Home Worker
The most recent charges that surfaced involving Riem are 12 counts of rape and two counts of felonious sexual penetration.
“It’s been an ongoing investigation, and it’s just additional,” explains Police Detective Al Jenkins. “What we found through the records and everything else. More stuff could come out, we’re just not sure yet.”
Reims is currently being held in an Eerie County jail on $500,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty to the initial charges against him.
