Forensic entomology has gained a lot of momentum in the last decade. An unknown topic, forensic entomologists use insects in autopsies to determine unknown things about the deceased body. The rare science has been used to detect instances of nursing home abuse. By using maggots, forensic entomology can look at how badly a sore is infested to show how long a nursing home resident was ignored. In the future as forensic entomology grows, nursing home abuse investigations may involve more bugs for answers.
